A geek is defined as any worker with a bachelor’s degree level of knowledge and education in science and engineering related fields or workers in occupations that require some degree of technical knowledge or training.
The National Science Foundation has released a ranking of the Top 20 cities in the US by the percentage of workers with jobs in science, technology, engineering and mathematics in their “Science and Engineering Indicators 2010.” The following is the Top 20 list.

While the US economy has been supported by foreign born scientists and engineers, the US growth has averaged 6.2 percent from 182,000 in 1950 to $5.5 million in 2007.
