CALIFORNIA BUSINESS MINUTE Most Stolen Cars 08-08-11
Hi, I am Tim Johnson and welcome to the California Business Minute.
Forbes.com has compiled a list of the year’s most stolen cars using data from the National Insurance Crime Bureau Hot Wheels Report, which annually identifies the most stolen vehicles in the United States based on vehicle theft data submitted by law enforcement to the National Crime Information Center. The most recent findings list the vehicle make, model and model year most reported stolen in 2010.
TOP TEN CARS MOST STOLEN
1) 1994 Honda Accord 2) 1995 Honda Civic 3) 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 4) 1999 GMC Sierra 5) 1997 Ford F150 6) 2004 Dodge Ram 7) 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan 8) 1994 Acura Integra 9) 2002 Ford Explorer 10) 1999 Ford Taurus
The good news is if preliminary stats from the FBI crime division hold true, last year will have seen the fewest vehicle thefts since 1967. The most recent FBI crime statistics predict a 7.2-percent reduction in theft since 2009—the lowest rate in more than 40 years.
I am Tim Johnson and this has been the California Business Minute.
