Fastest Growing Populations

Hi, I am Tim Johnson and welcome to the California Business Minute.
According to the latest numbers from the Census Bureau, the following
populations of the following 10 metro areas grew the fastest in the
past decade. However, this ranking does not provide a complete picture
of the instability of these communities. First, Lincoln California has
been named one of the fastest growing cities in the nation by the annual
Gadberry Group analysis. Second, many cities listed such as St. George,
Utah, has seen its housing market and economy slow significantly since
2007. Also, Cape Coral, Florida has seen 30 percent of its homes sit
vacant and Bend, Oregon has seen a complete collapse of its economy
including 15 percent unemployment. You be the judge.

Cape Coral, FL 40.3%
Provo, UT 39.8%
Greely, CO 39.2%

Myrtle Beach, SC 37.0%
Bend, OR 36.7%
