Hi, I am Tim Johnson and welcome to the California Business Minute.
California isn’t called the Golden State for nothing. As it pertains to the best place for women to make a high wage, six California cities rank among the top 20 cities.
According to the US Census Bureau, California’s large technology companies place a premium on educational and skilled workers, hence the reason why the Golden State is a great location for women to earn a high wage.
The list which ranks the cities by average salary for full time working women, illustrate that the best cities for women to receive pay is along the east and west coasts of the nation.
San Jose’s which is ranked the highest in the nation, has an average annual wage of $67,052. It is followed by San Francisco at $65,536.

However, the pay disparity between men and women continues to hold constant with women making about 75 percent of their male counterparts.
