CALIFORNIA BUSINESS MINUTE Most Wired Cities 01-10-12
Hi, I am Tim Johnson and welcome to the California Business Minute.
This year’s list of the “Most Wired Cities in the Nation,” puts California in an awkward situation. Even with the power of Silicon Valley, only one city from California made the list and it wasn’t even from the Silicon Valley. However, this year’s list is compiled by CNBC, as versus by Forbes which previously produced the rankings for 2009 and 2010. San Diego which was ranked 14th last year is ranked fourth in this year’s ranking. Meanwhile, San Francisco, San Jose and Los Angeles are nowhere to be found.
The CNBC ranking utilizes FCC data on average broadband speeds. The list differs from the Forbes 2010 Top Ten as only Seattle, Washington DC and Denver make the 2011 list.
